Tech is a window, not what you look at

Staring at the shovel in your hands while you’re using it is a sure-fire way to dig a crooked ditch.

Technology is a tool, and tools help you get a job done. Tools accelerate the means, but they’re not the end. Feeds and readers and dashboards and blogs and Twitter and analytics are proxies and windows.

The moment you look at technology instead of through it is the moment that people become numbers.

The moment you quit people-watching is the moment you start failing connectorship.
